Similar to the Report Requester extension object, if the Task Executor had the options for "Apply Current Selections" and the "Variable Values" dropdown, that would be very helpful. The current work-around is to pass a parameter that contains field selection values to apply as a datasource filter, but this requires us to create one parameter per filter field, limiting what end-users can do.
