How to restore a backup - fresh installation is required - new machine

The fresh installation is done to a new machine

0) In the old machine: if possible, create an Admin user with custom credentials, then backup the repository.  Having an admin user will make it easier to gain access to the managment console in the new machine.

1) Request a new license 

        Send an email to info@mail-and-deploy.com with the name of the new machine

2) Install M&D with the same version as the source server

3) Stop M&D Service

4) Copy the backup repository to C:\Mail & Deploy folder\Data\Repository.db

5) Start M&D Service

6) Active the license you received in step 1

7) Update the following settings in Settings -> Server with the information of the new server

       

8) If there is a SSL certificate present in the new machine, insert the new machine's Thumbprint in the corresponding field.
