If the Mail & Deploy Designer is not opening it is very likely there's something deleting it or blocking it. Here’s a brief guide to help you troubleshoot and fix the issue:
1) Be sure that you download the Designer.
a. In the Management Console, press Reports en the left menu and press the button Download Designer. This should download the file Designer.zip.
b. Open the zip file and double click the file Designer Installer.exe. You should get the following message:
2) Check that the Designer Launcher.exe is in the following folder
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mail And Deploy\Designer\
If the file disappears from the folder, the antivirus is deleting it. Please contact your IT department and/or add the following folder to the antivirus' exclusions folder: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mail And Deploy\.
3) Double click the file Designer Launcher.exe, you should get the following message
If you are getting a message like this one:
The Designer Launcher.exe is blocked by your administrator. Please contact your IT department.
4) Open the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and check the following entry
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\mddesigner\shell\open\command
It should contain "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mail And Deploy\Designer\Designer Launcher.exe" "%1"
If the entry doesn't exist, please contact your IT department, looks like you don't have permissions to create this entry.
