To understand the scale property in a Chart Element, we first need to know the following:
- In Microsoft Office only centimeters and inches are supported to define the size of a chart.
- In Microsoft Office 1 centimeter = 37.8pixels.
- Mail & Deploy will capture the Chart in a headless browser.
and then we are going to use the following tools/settings:
- The monitor where M&D designer is running will be set to 100% scale
- The browser's Developer Tools (in Chrome press Ctrl-Shift-i) > Toggle device toolbar (in Chrome press Ctrl-Shift-m)
and now you can set the size of the browser in pixels
- In Qlik Sense Client Managed: Single configurator to display a single Chart in a browser
Right mouse click the Chart and press the 3 dots
press Share
press Embed </> and
or you can construct the following URL
https://server/single/?appid=c33c45ef-cc1b-4f63-982e-40b1836e1e80&obj=ZxDKp&theme=themeid
- In Qlik Sense Cloud: construct this URL to display a single Chart in a brower
https://tenant.region.qlikcloud.com/single/?appid=f9bf7b32-eff0-4f94-b17b-xxxxxxxxxxxx&obj=xxxxxx&theme=themeid
Now we have everything prepared to follow this example:
M&D Desginer
Set the Chart's element's Scale (%) property to 100

and place the element in the Word Report and set the Height and Width to 10cm
the Output looks like this
Open the single configurator and the Browser's Developer Tools and set the width and height to 378x378 :
You will see that the M&D output matches the Browser's display.
Set the Chart's element's Scale (%) property to 75
The output and Developer tools look like this:
The browser's size is now 504x504, the formula is the following.
Having a bigger browser gives Qlik Sense more space to render the Chart, its labels are therefore less truncated. And the chart in the output is still 10cmx10cm.
