After configuring Mail & Deploy to use Azure AD as a user directory, will new developers log in using their Azure AD password, or will they need a local Mail & Deploy login password?

When Mail & Deploy is configured to use Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) as a user directory, users, including developers and designers, will log in using their Azure AD credentials. There is no need to create or use a separate local Mail & Deploy password.

Recommendation for Designer Access:
To streamline access for designers:
  1. Create a Group in Azure AD:
    • Create an Azure AD group specifically for Mail & Deploy designers, such as M&D Designers.
  2. Sync the Group to Mail & Deploy:
    • Once the group is created in Azure AD, it will automatically appear in Mail & Deploy as an M&D group with the corresponding members.
  3. Assign Permissions:
    • Configure the appropriate permissions for the M&D Designers group in Mail & Deploy to grant access to the Designer tool and other necessary features.
Benefits of Using Azure AD Integration:
  • Centralized credential management, eliminating the need for maintaining separate passwords for Mail & Deploy.
  • Streamlined onboarding for new developers and designers by simply adding them to the relevant Azure AD group.
  • Enhanced security through Azure AD’s authentication and access management capabilities.
By leveraging Azure AD as the user directory, you ensure a seamless login experience for developers and designers, aligned with your organization's existing identity management policies.
