Unhandled exception - COMException: Unable to set the Left property of the Application class

NOTE: This started happening mid November 2024, likely due to a Windows or .NET Update. We are working on fixing this in the designer but in the interim these steps should help.

If you see the following when attempting to open a template in the desgner:

The message in the detail may contain for example:

- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Unable to set the Left property of the Application class

- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Die Left-Eigenschaft des Application-Objektes kann nicht festgelegt werden.

- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: No se puede asignar la propiedad Left de la clase Application.

Please try the following:

- Open Excel.

- Ensure the Window is NOT maximised, in other words if it is click this icon:

So that it looks similar to this:

- Close Excel.

- Try reopening the report in Mail & Deploy and accessing the template.
