These settings control whether the repository to which Mail & Deploy is currently connected is connected to an active directory. This is required to synchronize users and user groups (see User and User Groups) with an active directory (see Synchronize Users and User Groups with Active Directory Action).
You can access these settings by clicking Tools > Settings > Active Directory Connection if you are a user with a role of at least Administrator. A dialogue will appear that allows you to configure the following settings:
|Enable Active Directory Connection||This setting determines whether the current repository is connected to an active directory.|
|Active Directory Type||The type of active directory to which you want to connect.|
This is a local SAM store (e.g. the local user group and user directory of the local machine).
An active directory on a domain controller.
|Host & Port ||The host and port of the active directory server. This setting is only applicable for the active directory type Domain.|
|Container ||The root container of the active directory to which to connect. This setting is only applicable to the active directory type Domain.|
|Credentials ||This is the username and password combination used to connect to the active directory. This setting is only applicable for the active directory type Domain.|
Once you have entered the active directory connection details, you can click the button to test the connection to the active directory.
