How you connect datasources

Data out of Qlik is the foundation of every single one of your reports. In order to transform this information into engaging reports, you first need to connect your data sources with Mail & Deploy.

In section datasources, connect Mail & Deploy with corresponding Qlik apps (QlikView Document, QlikSense Desktop Application or QlikSense Server Application). Press the button  and choose from the list.

Connect with QlikView Document

If you want to use a QlikView Document as a datasource, assign a Name and the QVW Path with UNC format. The file should be accessible from the Server and also from the Clients that will work with it.

If necessary, add the Section Access’ details.

The option Click Button before Cache Refresh is used to press a button (enter the ID) before doing the Cache Refresh.

Connect with Qlik Sense Server

If you want to use the Qlik Sense Server as a datasource, assign a Name and the enter the Host (name or IP address).

If necessary, include the Virtual Proxy Path. Be sure that Virtual Proxy in use has the option Extended security enabled not activated and the Windows authentication pattern is set to Windows.

Choose the correct Protocol Type and press refresh. Afterwards you can select the Application Name from the list.

Connect with Qlik Sense Desktop

If you want to use the Qlik Sense Desktop as a datasource, assign a Name and choose the Application Name from the list.
